DESIGN with INTENTION.
EVERY DETAIL on PURPOSE.
I'm Sonia — the designer and strategist behind Granada Creative Studio. I've spent years obsessing over the things most people don't notice: the way a typeface shifts the mood of a page, the spacing that makes a layout breathe, the hierarchy that guides a reader's eye without them ever realizing it.
I hold a master's degree in editorial design, which means I'm not just choosing pretty fonts — I'm making decisions that affect how your brand is perceived, how your message lands, and how much trust your visual identity earns before you've said a single word.
My work lives at the intersection of editorial craft and visual communication. I design Squarespace websites, editorial and marketing materials, and Canva templates — primarily for restaurants, hospitality brands, and founder-led businesses who want their design to feel as considered as their work actually is. I'm also drawn to the systems side of design — helping business owners make clearer, more confident visual decisions without the overwhelm.
I work in both English and Spanish, and I've had the pleasure of partnering with clients in the US, Mexico, and Spain.
TYPOGRAPHY IS THE FOUNDATION
〰️
TYPOGRAPHY IS THE FOUNDATION 〰️
Good typography doesn't announce itself. It simply makes everything feel right. The hierarchy that guides a reader's eye, the spacing that creates calm, the typeface that carries the weight of a brand without trying too hard — these are the invisible decisions that define how refined a brand actually looks.
It's the foundation I bring to every website, every layout, and every template I design. And it's what separates design that looks professional from design that actually works.
HOW I WORK
MY WORKING STYLE
I'm not a phone-call-every-other-day kind of designer. My process is structured and built around keeping projects moving without constant back-and-forth. I work best with clients who trust the process and value good communication over
constant check-ins.
What that looks like in practice: clear timelines, defined revision rounds, and feedback that's organized — not a wall of text at midnight. I'll always tell you where we are in the process and what's coming next. You won't be left wondering.
I take on a limited number of projects at a time so I can give each one the attention it deserves. If we're working together, your project is never an afterthought.
Are we a good fit?
I’M YOUR DESIGNER IF YOU:
Value design as an investment — not just a line item to get through.
Have a clear sense of who your audience is (or are open to figuring it out together).
Respect timelines. They exist to keep your project on track, not to stress you out.
See me as a collaborator, not an order-taker.
Want it done right — not just done.
I’M PROBABLY NOT YOUR DESIGNER IF YOU:
Need something by tomorrow. Quality design isn’t a rush job.
Want to micromanage the process or negotiate the pricing after the fact.
Prefer a lot of phone calls to check in on progress. That's not my rhythm.
Don't have a clear sense of what you want and expect the designer to figure it all out for free.
Want to pay in exposure. You get the idea.
No judgment — it just means we'd both be better off with someone else.
